We love this bar. I started to visit Willsons when they were the only smoke free establishment in the area. Now, all bars are smoke free due to state legislation. The bartenders are all great servers. Diane, Brooke, Jill, Shari, all know how to pour a drink. I feel at home when at Willsons. They now have a very nice covered patio with gas fire pit. Great atmosphere!

Outstanding Chicken Chilli! I've been here a few times and its not just your typical bar food. Drinks are great pours. Check menu and you will be pleasantly surprised. Steak bites are the greatest.

Willson's is a great place for a date, a night out with the girls, or to take my parents out to lunch. The beer selection is great. They have some Michigan craft beers (a must) and all the domestic standards. They make a perfect and affordable cosmo, and sometimes have drink specials. The food is great, and affordable. Their pizza is perfect. The antipasto salad is just what an antipasto salad should be. Their specials are great (look for Macaroni and Cheese soup - so good!) The interior is decorated beautifully. I love the large stone accent wall. We really love to sit outside too. They have a small gas fire place to keep it warm. This is the best restaurant in the area. The prices are fair and the food and drinks are delicious. The wait staff is super friendly too!

Came here with family and friends awhile back. I don't remember much good about it. I got a grilled chicken dish that was tasteless and even worse the fries to go along with it weren't much better.

Basically a decent place when it's not busy. Great for lunch or a week night dinner but if you go in on a Friday or Saturday night at dinner time be prepared for rough service and be sure to order something "idiot proof' like a burger. An attempt to try something that requires a bit of culinary skill will leave you scratching your head. This area is in desperate need for more/better casual dining with good service.

Great hangout spot. I like to come here for a beer and maybe a light bite. Standard bar fare if you plan on eating. You really can never go wrong with bosco sticks. Smoke free atmosphere is a plus.

Wilson's has been around for quite awhile. We have been going there for a few years now. This is a smaller pub and grill like the name says. We usually go on Friday evening and it is always packed. The menu is a mix of dinners (last night a special was lobster penne), sandwiches, and pizza. We usually go for the sandwiches. They have a large selection, all with a choice of regular or sweet potato fries, or another side. We have also had the pizza and it is wonderful. There are nightly drink specials. Last night it was a cosmo. We all got the beer special which was a 22 oz draft for $3.50. The beer selection is extensive. Go early and enjoy a good meal and a drink. After 6, be prepared to wait at the bar.

When you walk in you immediately see the beautiful stone wall, open ceilings and dark wood accents/trim. The bar looked cozy not real large. They have TV's everywhere and spacious booths. I must admit the first couple times in here were less than favorable but they worked the kinks out and the last two times were great. The pizza is some of the best you've had, I guarantee! The waitress suggested roasted red pepper and pineapple? We figured why not and wow what a flavor pairing. While waiting breifly for a table I noticed they have great entertainment various nights of the week as well(check the website for dates).

Drinks are no joke! I was feeling damn good after 1, so of course I had 2. Burger is one of the best I've ever had. Tasted char grilled. Got the steak fries, which were served hot and crisp. They have a lot of toppings to choose from on the build your own burger section. Small salad was a very good size, made with fresh greens and home made salad dressing. Pizza looked amazing. I'd like to try it sometime, but I'm not sure I could go there without getting the burger. Service was great. Nancy was very attentive, had a nice personality and was knowledgeable about the menu. I can't wait to go back!

We had heard lots of people in the area talk about this new bar and grill, so on an evening when we didn't want to drive far for a meal we went to check it out. Walking in I had two thoughts: First, it was smaller than I expected. Only about 30 tables and a bar. Second, it was nicer inside than expected. The atmosphere is the highlight of dining here (and I think maybe it fools people into enjoying the place more than they would otherwise), it's deep wood and comfortable lighting earned it an extra star in this review. The service was fine (not great, not bad) and at 6pm on a Thursday evening we didn't have to wait for a table (but they weren't empty either). I hear, however, they're packed to the gills on Friday and Saturdays. The food is where I was really let down. They are proud enough about serving frozen grocery store food that they put the brand names on their menu (Kraft mac and cheese for the kids and Bosco sticks for the appetizers). This lost yet another star in my book. I wasn't starving so a few of us split a pizza and got salads. Granted, I just got a house salad, but boy was it sad!! (see photo) Iceberg lettuce (with maybe a little romaine thrown in), shaved carrots, and a couple tomatoes thrown in the bottom. This was airline food, people. Very disappointing. The pizza was, well, pizza. My wife said it reminded her of "up north" bar pizza but I'd argue it wasn't even as good. TONS of cheese and toppings that looked fresh, but didn't taste that great. My mom did get the biggest glass of white wine I've ever seen, though, so maybe this is the place to come for a glass of wine on their outdoor patio. (Also, just a side note, if you're a vegetarian or try and eat ethically, good luck...that's why I ended up with a sad salad and a so-so veggie pizza.) I'm sure we'll go here again, but it won't be on my dime. If someone wants to meet us there AND pay, I'll go...but if it's my money, I'll heavily suggest somewhere else.

I really like the atmosphere in this place. Dark wood booths open, high ceiling. We had really quick service & as others mentioned the pours are good. Our server was quick and attentive. My parents frequent the place and recommended the tuna melt. I thought it was good. Thick swiss cheese and nice fluffy multigrain bread. The tuna salad I believe is albacore and has onions & I'm not sure how they make it, but it is a little sweet. It was good & I would get it again if I go. The fries are big fat steak fries, and they were good too. Nice place out in the Commerce area to grab a beer/cocktail and a quick bite.

I live around here and everyone said it was a good place to go, so my family and I went to go and check it out. It is located in a nice strip center and one I go to often for my Caribu coffee. We walk in and it's like lounge style bar (I don't drink but obviously they had a huge menu for drinks and what I have seen everyone enjoys them) We were greeted and to me it was a warm friendly greeting. So far good. We sit down and I am handed the menu and I open it. I look at the food I did not appreciate seeing "FROZEN'' food on there...that makes me feel uneasy I am not paying for frozen crap I can buy at a store (Bosco sticks and kraft mac and cheese) They had a lot of food on the menu but not a lot of diversity, there were Home made soups so that was a plus when I was looking. They had pizza, salads, burgers and sandwiches and steak I also think I saw seafood I am not sure but were there is Steak there has to be sea food most of the time. The prices to me were OVERPRICED for some things.. They ranged from $6-$25. So I ordered the spinach dip and it when It came out it looked like....well it looked great, but it did not taste that great sadly but it was ok. I then ordered the chicken caesar wrap. It was pretty good but the chicken looked like caned tuna...and did not tasted that great I was expecting grilled like chicken. The fries were fantastic and seasoned nicely. My sister and dad got the Chili.....They ate it all so I taken they liked it but the appearance looked like dog food.... My mom had a Rubin and soup, her soup looked and tasted great and the sandwich looked great as well. So to me the food is Good and Bad it depends on what you get. The Service was great very friendly waitress she also seemed to talk a lot. But over all made the experience better and the recommended when we asked she did recommend the sandwich and burgers. The place has a nice out door patio and inside TVs but a very nice dark wood. Bar was not huge but a nice size from what I could tell. OVER ALL it was a good place, not my favorite I am disappointed they are serving frozen food and makes me wonder about my appetizer I got, thats nothing to be happy about. Food depends on what you order. But is a nice place if your in the area and want a drink or burger. Friendly service, but pricy.

If you are looking for a wonderful family owned and operated establishment that provides great food and service then this is it! My wife and I visit Wilson's once a week and I can say we have never been disappointed. Great salads and we love the burgers. Wilson's is a place where "everyone" knows your name :-) Try it once, you will be hooked!

My husband and I have been a fan of Willsons since they opened, We have relatives that live in the area, so whenever we are in that part of town, we go to Willsons. Love the atmosphere, I think the veggie square pizza well baked is great, if I am feeling like I need some comfort food I go for the sweet potato fries again well baked. Owner Glen, and brother Bill always take care of us. I am a fan leslye

Reasons I heart Willson's: 1. It encompasses everything a community bar should be. 2. The drinks are strong and affordable. 3. The BURGERS are amazing! (the buns are homemade and the meat is cooked to order) 4. The staff is friendly, fun, and entertaining. 5. The owner is on-site and always taking an active role in running his restaurant and talking to customers.

I think this place is coasting on atmosphere alone. The inside is beautifully decorated and inviting. And the patio seating is great on a warm day. The food, unfortunately, is terrible. The first time there I had a pasta dish with a sweet-tasting tomato sauce reminiscent of Chef Boyardee. Yuck. Went back again recently. I wanted to give them another chance, and thought I'd try a burger, since those or more their specialty. What I got was a thin, pre-formed patty, the type that I've only seen sold in bulk, frozen, at supermarkets. It had no flavor whatsoever, and not even the multiple toppings helped. The steak fries were also bland, and appeared to have come out of a box. My husband's turkey burger was also bland and pre-formed. I won't be back unless it's just for drinks.

as I walked into this place it was wonderful, after that all downhill. I order the Chile special. It was just consume, no body. We order a Veggie pizza, it came out half baked. The waitress was poor.

My wife and I stopped here after hearing a number of friends compliment the place overall. This is a great neighborhood bar with good food. The positives: food was served HOT, the drinks were of a generous pour. It was fairly busy for a Wednesday evening. Nothing negative to report this time through.

I wish I could go back in time and choose somewhere else to eat dinner. 1) menu is very small 2) our waitress was no where to be seen most of the night 3) food was bland Although, the bus boys seem to be on top of their game. I sincerely hope they replace this "pub" with a real, well-operated pub.

We go to Wilson's because of the outdoor patio, it is awesome. After that food is hit or miss. The Mac and cheese is processed canned cheese mixed with elbow noodles and no seasoning whatsoever. The battered fish is battered alright two pounds of batter to a half ounce of fish. The special tonight was sweet and sour chicken and meatballs. The meatballs were frozen processed really!!!! Was very disappointed today with food not sure if we would return.

Went to Willsons yesterday after a full day of errands and decided to give them a try. What a great move. It was our first time there and Julie made us feel like we were family. Had a couple of sandwiches and an appetizer, which were flawless. Too bad we've passed by for so long , could have been enjoying them a lot sooner. Already planning our return trip, thanks Julie!

Was in here about a yr ago and it was terrible.. Just left after giving them one more chance and it was not even edible. I won't go into details, but let's just say that the food they serve is garbage.... We couldn't even eat it and the little we did end up injesting is making us both feel ill.....

After hearing from a friend that this place has great burgers, I had wanted to go here for the longest time.. finally one Saturday afternoon we ventured out. There is an a-ok sized bar immediately as you walk in and then a wall separating the bar from the dining room.. We got there at a decent time (2ish), there were only two other occupied booths and then a few patrons in the outdoor seating area - which is not exciting to me, unless you like eating in a parking lot.. I did experience a few disappointments here. The staff was very nice, but also very slow - which I couldn't understand considering how dead it was in there.. Secondly, I couldn't get over the sweet/stinky bar odor lingering over the wall into the dining area.. Maybe I'm overly sensitive, but it seemed to me something was in need of a good scrub! Lastly, my burger.. I really wanted to like it. not love it, I would have been happy with like.. I ordered it medium rare and it was clearly borderline well -medium well.. Sigh...The menu offers all sorts of different toppings - one being a sweet and sour onions.. I asked what that is exactly and the waitress said under her breath that they weren't any good.. Oh ok.. Clearly all people have the same taste. I ordered my grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and peppered pineapple.. The pineapples were ice cold - not ideal for a warm burger..and the mushrooms were not at all grilled..they appeared to be lukewarm out of a can. I will say the onion rings were very good.. They have a unique batter that isn't too heavy and greasy, crispy and perfect. I may give this place another chance, but not anytime soon..

This is basically my neighborhood bar and I am a fan (so my review may be a bit biased) The staff is always at the top of their game, they know their regulars down to where they like to sit and their favorite beverages. The food is fresh and flavorful, and the bar does good mixed drinks. They also keep a decent selection on tap (not just Bud and Miller but some real beers!) In summer their outdoor area has a firewall and is very comfortable. They do have numerous TV's but I would not exactly call it a 'sports bar' ususally the sound is off. A good place for family and friends to gather for some great food and conversation. The pizza and burgers are good but my favorite is the oniou soup and the BLT!

On a busy night, we went in and were seated promptly. Our waitress, Jenna, was cheerful and attentive. The food was good and came hot to the table. The prices were very reasonable. The restaurant has definitely improved. We would definitely go back.

We were able to get right in and sit outside ! I am missing my favorite waitress Heather. I had the Tiger Shrimp and Chili Sauce. It was good. Penne pasta with sausage was also a pick from our party and was pretty good. Chocolate Martinis are good too. I can't say we have ever had a bad meal here!

It's hard to define this place. They are a normal bar and grill but they choose to charge more for everything. It's not that much classier from a watering hole. Just a little bit, but they are in an end-cap of a strip mall. Their food is mostly Sysco, while foods, or gfs based. Those factors makes it hard for me to choose this bar and grill as anything more, except for the prices. They probably need to do a new market study. The food is better across the street, and freshly made. Also, there are three other local watering holes with better deals and offers for drinks. The bartenders make some stiff cocktails, and the staff are all very nice. I think some adjustments to quality and prices and a very knowledgeable head bartender are a must. & this place does tend to have its share of regulars.

I've never been a big fan of Wilson's, although the atmosphere and pizza are quite good. Tonight confirmed my opinion of this restaurant. Soup and salad - salad was awful, soggy and old wilted lettuce. The crispy chicken was over-baked chicken nuggets. When we told the waitress and showed her the lettuce, she apologized and took $1.94 off the bill. The manager never came over to ask about our food. Totally unacceptable.

I have been here three times total and I don't think I will ever go back. The wait staff is extremely rude, I don't know why their employees are so angry but that seems like an issue the owners need to rectify ASAP! I came here with 13 of my co-workers after a long day at the office looking to have a nice relaxing drink and some apps on the patio. What we experienced was no where close to that. The woman severing us demanded that we all take out our ID's and put them on the table in front of us as if we were 16 trying to use a fake ID. All of us were of legal drinking age and I was insulted that we were treated like that. After ordering our drinks we got a few appetizer which took forever to come out and weren't even that great.

Well this a dive bar in a nut shell: poor service, mediocre food, and ok drink prices Let's start with the service. I ordered a two hearted and they served me a bud light. When I told the waitress she had an attitude as if I was lying, saying "you were poured a two hearted." I drink enough beer to know the difference between the two. I told her "100% this is bud light." She went to the bartender and came back apologizing and fixed the issue. Onto the food. Burger was ok. Too much sauce that made it sloppy and made the bun soggy. Fries were good. Mac and cheese was horrific and likely from a box. Took a long time to get the food as well. All in all it is a dive bar so not a bad place for a drink but beyond that go elsewhere

Ordered the Cobb Salad. Highly suggest getting the dressing on the side as ours drowned out the rest of the ingredients. Btw the Cobb here is sans an egg. The burger was okay, well cooked for a formally frozen patty. All and all just okay.

Willson's is alright.. We have been many times as it is literally one of only a few restaurants in the surrounding area. The food is ok- I would like to see bigger portions for the prices they charge. Good burgers. Someone else reviewed that the staff is rude and I disagree- the staff has always been very attentive and friendly!

  • Jen S.

The setting is pretty nice, and maybe the only reason I ever returned. The service is hit or miss, but when it is hit, the servers are hilarious! Food is horrendous. I have been there several times, as it is one of the only restaurants in my area. Just like Lakes Bar and Grille, I tried desperately to like it. The food is so fake, bland and miserable. Last time I went, I got sick. That's where I drew the line. Won't be back unless I'm THAT desperate.

I'm surprised at the ratings this place gets. Four of us had dinner there on a Friday evening. We waited about 25 minutes for an outside table. The reason for 2 stars is that they have outdoor seating, or else I'd give 1 star. Also, all of the staff were very nice and accommodating. The food however, was horrible. I don't use that word loosely, so it must be pretty bad to get a horrible out of me. There was one positive, the dinner salad was fresh. Two of us had the panko encrusted white fish. Both of us got mushy, flavorless fish. The panko Dijon crust was soggy, and the fish was mush. I had sweet potato fries as my side item. They were blah. Tasted like the kind I get at the grocery store. The other person had Mac and cheese as a side. She couldn't even eat it. I tasted it and wouldn't have eaten it either. It was very over baked or heated up. It was chewy and dried out. My daughter said it tasted like the Velveeta kind you make at home, but burnt. One person ordered fish and chips. There was barely any fish, just a lot of greasy batter. Very off-putting. The last order was possibly the worst presentation and taste of any meal I've seen at mid-priced restaurant. My mom ordered the garlic sautéed shrimp over rice pilaf. I wish I had taken a picture of it because it looked like something you'd get at a nursing home or in the hospital. It was served in a shallow plastic looking bowl. Literally bland yellowish rice with about 6 shrimp. There was no flavor. No sauce, no color, just a bowl of tasteless rice and shrimp. My mom said the shrimp was also overdone. The waitress took it off our bill after we complained. She even remarked that it did not look appetizing! I wish we had a better experience. I'd go back for drinks, that's about it.

Shame on me....this is the second time I've made the mistake of calling for a carry out from Willson's. I was flabbergasted when told that it would be 45 minutes to an hour until I could pick it up. Needless to say, I didn't end up ordering from Willson's but, instead, called an equal competitor just down the street...10-15 minutes later = great food! If carry out at Willson's was 45 to an hour, I can't imagine how long the folks actually dining there have to wait. Here's a tip: HIRE A SECOND COOK MAYBE!

  • Katie B.

We were pleasantly surprised with this place. The sliders were great, cooked perfectly. And the pizzokie? was delish. We'll definitely be back. My husband isn't a big fan of bars but we really enjoyed the patio and fire place. Great place to grab a burger.

I don't understand how this place is filled with people. I'm thinking that people just go there for the bar because their food is terrible. I gave this restaurant 3 chances and all visits were a fail. Waitresses were very uneducated about the menu and what is served. Majority of their food is bland and not appetizing at all. It saddens me that this restaurant is not good because I live right behind it. They also don't seem to care about the comments made about their food (they are not willing to better your experience if you don't like their food); perhaps they're immune to negative feedback? I have not enjoyed one meal here, and I will never go back again!

Got to try wilsons for the first time today. It was a total let down. We got a salmon BLT and a Reuben. They were terribly dry and bland. I will not be returning. The only reason they get two stars from me is because the service isn't bad. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

  • Kimberly M.

I hate to write a 5 star review for this place because quite frankly, they are already packed enough. They are located in a restaurant starved area full of residents just dying for places to spend their money, but somehow not many restaurant owners have figured that out. The area also is in desperate need of a produce store like Papa John's but I digress. First of all, ignore the reviews from 2009. That was when they first opened. They have worked out the kinks. Second of all, this place shouldn't get reviews as if it is a foodie place. It's a bar, with great food for a bar. They definitely could work on the salad menu but what they have is ok for now (please add a greek salad, a real greek salad because that mediterranean salad is not a greek salad). They have some really good specials and I go out of my way to be there for the fish specials. The pizza is hit and miss depending on the cook that night but when it is a hit it is really really good. The ribs are also great when they are great, but can be tough and molasses flavored on other nights. The staff is amazingly friendly, my husband and I feel like part of their family, they recognize us every time. Some of the waitresses seem to keep track of my hair style even LOL. I really wish they would buy out the cell phone store next door and expand because there are many nights now where we can't even get anywhere near the bar, which is sad - there is nowhere else in the area to go that we enjoy. They would have to change the bar if they expanded though and that would make me sad. When we are lucky enough to sit at the bar and eat, and watch a sporting event on the TWO large flat screen TV's right in front of us, we are entertained by the bar staff. Try to get in on a Friday night for a table and you can expect to wait.

Everything I've had at Willson's has been great. It is our go-to burger joint because they are one of the few places that can seem to cook a burger to the desired temperature consistently. I know this place gets busy, but we've only been on off hours, so the seating and service have been top notch. Cheers!
